Yesterdays race winner continues his strong form
Walkinshaw Andretti United's Chaz Mostert has topped third practice for the weekend, being the only driver to complete a sub 55 second lap time. The winner of yesterdays race has so far been a force to reckoned with this weekend, scoring the pole position and race win in Saturdays 55 lap race.
Mostert looks to be in contention for a clean sweep of the weekend, but with 21 of the 24 cars being within half a second of each other, his job won't be easy.
Shell V Power Racing's Will Davison finished Practice 3 in the second spot, a strong showing and possibly a sign of things to come for the rebounding Ford team.
Peter Paddon continues his winning streak in the First Focus Radical Cup Australia, taking out Race 2, the opening event of the day.
In what was an eventful race for the Battery World Aussie Racing cars, Reece Chapman would eventually score the top spot in the third race of the weekend for the class. With more lead changes than you could count, the large crowd here at Carco.com.au raceway were certainly kept entertained. Kody Garland and Josh Anderson would round out the podium for the third of four races this weekend.
Only 11 cars would start the second race of the weekend for Touring Car masters, with 6 cars having withdrawn due to damage or mechanical issues. A smaller grid wasn't a drawback for racing however, with an exciting battle for the podium places kicking off in the last few laps, with Joel Heinrich clinching the race win, clearing a late charge from Adam Garwood. Ryan Hansford would drop to the 3rd position after battling Heinrich for the lead for a large portion of the race.
